FAQs

Find the answers to frequently asked questions…

  • Will you still teach a class, even if there’s only a few people?

Since I provide the art supplies and any needs for the class, there is a cost on my end as well, which in turn, requires me to have a “minimum” for each workshop. The minimum number of participants is determined by which workshop/class is being taught.

  • How far out should I order my custom illustration project?

Ideally, as soon as you’ve decided you’d like to move forward with a project! Send a contact email asap so that I can connect with you and understand your vision as accurately as possible. Your project matters to me, and I’m excited to work with you to create the perfect. Personalized illustration!

  • Do you ever host open studio days to the public?

My studio is located in my home, in Lake Elmo, Minnesota. It’s a busy, working studio where I paint watercolor, pack orders, and manufacture my prints, cards, and line of small paper goods. Because it’s located in my personal home, where me and my family live and exist, I do not hold “open studio” days. That being said, I’d love to connect with you, and discuss future projects by scheduling a time to meet at my home-studio, or at a local coffee shop/public space.

  • If I place an online order and want to pick it up locally, what do I do?

Online orders or commissions can be picked up from my in-home studio’s front porch. At check-out, an option for ‘Local Pick Up’ will be available. Once your online order is complete, I will contact you with further instructions.

  • Do you offer wholesale?

I do! I would love + be honored to be in your shop! You may order directly through me with smaller minimums + free local delivery (if available) or through my Faire site.

  • Do you share your business or manufacturing process information?

In building my small business, I’ve learned from my (many) mistakes, and wins! I truly feel what works for One Light Studio, may not work for you and your business.

When I create and manufacture my work, I do it in “small batches”. If or when I use a third-party vendor or print company, I am particular about their work practices and manufacturing process, which means that I sometimes pay higher prices for clean, well-produced products, which in turn is reflected in some of my product-pricing.

In order to protect my original work and studio-practices, I do not share my information.
